AI4RE micro-credential in the beta-phase
IREB has expanded the CPRE certification program to include micro-credential qualifications. Micro-credentials are compact learning units that impart specific knowledge in a short period of time.
The first of these is the AI4RE micro-credential, which is currently available in a beta version and will be released in its final form in the first quarter of 2026.
Participants in the beta phase will receive a proof of completion, for which they can obtain official confirmation once the final version is released.
We invite all participants of the beta phase to answer a short survey. Your feedback will help us to further optimize the micro-credential and tailor it to the needs of the IREB community.
Today we have published the AI4RE syllabus and study guide (beta) and the related online self-assessment on our website.
We are closely monitoring the acceptance of this new micro-credential. As soon as we see that the community is interested and embraces this new topic and format, we will launch a full examination shortly thereafter—planned for Q1 2026.

IREB invites you to an exciting roundtable discussion entitled “Value-Based Engineering.” Together with panelists Svenja Schröder (msg Plaut), Cornelia Seraphin (msg), and Nedo Alexander Bartels (Fraunhofer IESE), the topic will be examined from various technical and social perspectives.
The aim of the discussion is to highlight the relevance of value-based engineering - an approach that brings together economic models, ethical issues, and digital ecosystems. The focus will be on the social impact of technical systems and the professional responsibility of requirements engineers and digital design experts.
Participants will gain insights into the methods and results of a workshop that deals with ethics and sustainability, ethical guidelines for RE and DD professionals, and the guiding principle of “digital humanism.”

In this article, we will explore why these skills are essential for business analysts and how they can overcome some typical barriers to active listening. In this paper, we will show how the SysML modeling language can be useful to complement the requirements process, i.e. to better define and trace requirements. The Systems Modeling Language (SysML: www.omgsysml.org) is a general-purpose graphical modeling language, defined by the Object Management Group (OMG), based on the well-known Unified Modeling Language (UML: www.uml.org). It is used for specifying, analyzing, designing and verifying complex systems, and is designed to provide simple but powerful constructs for modeling a wide range of systems engineering problems. It is particularly effective in specifying requirements: the structure, behavior, allocations and constraints on system properties that support engineering analysis.
