Event IREB Roundtable | ReqAIrements 04.12.2025 17:00 Online
Oliver Hehlert and Gareth Rogers, ambassadors of the IREB Community Germany, invite you to the next roundtable! Together with Christian Bock (ZIEHL-ABEGG), they will take a critical look at the rapid development of generative AI tools in Requirements Engineering. Tools that formulate requirements in minutes, analyze stakeholder feedback, or deliver design proposals.
What sounds like a dream for every project team also entails risks. After all, a fluently formulated text does not necessarily mean a common understanding.
How can AI be integrated sensibly without losing human coordination? or Where does automation end and where does genuine shared knowledge begin? are just two examples of the questions that will be discussed together at the roundtable.
The roundtable will be held in German.

Event IREB Roundtable | Modeling or writing, that is the question! 05.11.2025 17:00 Online
This roundtable will explore one of the central questions in Requirements Engineering and design: should systems be described through words or through models?
Requirements Engineers often seek to balance precision and readability, deciding when to rely on formal models such as UML, BPMN, or SysML and when natural language is more effective. Stakeholders emphasize clarity and accessibility, noting that models can either clarify or complicate communication. Testers focus on unambiguous, testable requirements, seeing potential in model-based approaches for improving traceability. UX designers, in turn, consider how visual and textual representations can combine storytelling and structure to support creativity and empathy.
Participants are invited to join Adil Yilmaz (ASML, Netherlands) and Kim Lauenroth (IREB, FH Dortmund) for a discussion on this key topic and to gain new insights into how modeling and writing shape effective collaboration in RE and design.
