Michael Mey holds a diploma in Computer Science from Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences, where he was first introduced to both Requirements Engineering and AI. With over 20 years of IT experience spanning software development and senior management roles at major corporations including UBS, EY, STOXX, SIX, and Deutsche Börse AG, Michael brings deep expertise at the intersection of technology and business. His professional journey reflects a unique blend of corporate rigor and startup agility, enabling him to bridge strategic vision with hands-on execution.
As CEO and founder of Obvious Works, a training and consulting company, he specializes in the convergence of AI, Requirements Engineering, and Software Development within the modern agile product management lifecycle. Holding CPRE Advanced Level certifications in both Requirements Elicitation and Requirements Modeling, Michael is a certified CPRE trainer who has trained over 800 professionals in requirements engineering and software development. He delivers training for CPRE Foundation Level and the AI4RE micro-credential, and is co-creator of the AI Developer Bootcamp - a comprehensive 3-month blended learning program that equips software developers with AI tools, vibe coding techniques, and an AI-first mindset. He also contributes his expertise through guest lectures at FHNW, HSLU, and Kaleidos.
Beyond his engagement in the IREB Special Interest Group AI, Michael heads the Automation chapter of Swiss AI, Switzerland's association for responsible use of artificial intelligence. He is a regular speaker at international conferences including REConf, Scrum Day, and BA Days, and has co-authored several books and written numerous articles on AI, agile mindset, project management, and requirements engineering, contributing actively to the advancement of the profession.
