Baseline Skills

Baseline Skills is the training and certification marketplace for requirements engineering, business analysis, and systems engineering practitioners. Since 2009, we've connected individuals and organizations with accredited instructors and immediately applicable skills — not credentials for their own sake, but the specific ability to write a verifiable requirement, trace it correctly, and defend it in review. Our catalog spans IREB CPRE, IIBA business analysis, AI & ML, INCOSE-aligned systems engineering, and automotive standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434), delivered live online, in corporate cohorts, and through a growing network of practitioner-instructors — each accredited against the standard they teach, not just credentialed in general.

Training level:
DDP Foundation, CPRE Foundation, Practitioner — Elicitation, Practitioner — Modeling, Practitioner — RE@Agile, RE@Agile Primer, CPRE Micro Credential — AI4RE
Training Type:
Online, Classroom, eLearning
Training locations:
India, Frankfurt (DE), City of Westminster (GB), Dubai (AE), Zurich (CH)
Subsidiaries:
Bengaluru (IN), Frankfurt (DE), Dubai (AE)

Baseline Skills: Introduction

A requirement is either verifiable or it isn't. A traceability matrix is either current or it's a document that used to be accurate. We built Baseline Skills around that same standard: training either changes what you can do on the job, or it was a day out of the office.

We measure success the same way our own course content asks you to measure a requirement — not by whether it sounds right, but by whether it holds up when someone tests it. Every course leaves with tools your team can use in the next sprint, the next review, the next audit — not a binder that goes on a shelf.

That standard is also why we're a marketplace rather than a single training company. No one instructor is the best fit for IREB CPRE, IIBA business analysis, INCOSE systems engineering, and ASPICE assessment all at once — so we don't ask one to be. Every instructor on Baseline Skills is accredited specifically against the standard they teach, vetted directly with the certifying body, and brings real delivery experience in that discipline — not a general training background stretched across disciplines it wasn't built for.

We hold every course to the same three questions: Can a participant actually use this the day they're back at their desk? Does it hold up against the certifying body's own quality criteria, not just our own opinion of quality? And would we be comfortable if a customer's own quality assessor sat in the room? If the answer to any of those is no, the
course doesn't ship.

Baseline Skills: Offerings

Capability Enhancement and Performance Improvement

Public cohorts, private corporate delivery, or a program built around your organization's own standards and terminology — delivered by an instructor accredited in that specific discipline, live online or at your site.

Requirements Engineering — IREB CPRE

Foundation Level (CPRE-FL) — 3-day foundation covering the full requirements engineering lifecycle: elicitation, documentation, validation, and management.

Advanced Level (CPRE-AL) — 3-day specialization tracks building on Foundation:

  • Requirements Elicitation
  • Requirements Management
  • Requirements Modeling
  • RE@Agile (Practitioner)

RE@Agile Primer — 2-day introduction to applying requirements engineering discipline inside agile delivery, for teams not ready for the full Advanced track.

AI4RE Microcredential — 1-day, focused specifically on using AI tools without compromising the verifiability and traceability a real requirements process depends on.

DDP Foundation Level — 3-day foundation in Digital Design & Development practice.

Business Analysis — IIBA

Certification preparation aligned to the BABOK Guide, across all three IIBA levels:
ECBA (entry-level),
CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis), and
CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) — plus practitioner workshops in requirements elicitation and business case development.

Systems Engineering — INCOSE-Aligned

Training aligned to the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, covering the full system lifecycle from requirements through architecture, verification, and validation — for engineers working across multiple disciplines on complex systems.

Automotive & Functional Safety Standards

Practitioner and assessor training in Automotive SPICE (ASPICE), ISO 26262 functional safety, and the emerging standards around software-defined vehicles and automotive cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434).

The content of the course is good as it provides good overview of the requirements engineering process. The examples and case study helped me gain the knowledge which I can confidently apply.
