With more than 25 years of experience in the system development process, I have learned that requirements and architecture are the foundation of a successful change in IT projects. Over the years, I have taken on almost all system engineering roles, from development and requirements engineering to architecture, product ownership, and management. The central theme in all these roles has been requirements—or the lack or volatility of them. Therefore, I believe that without a complete and accurate set of requirements and a sustainable architecture that supports business needs, an IT project is doomed to fail.
In the past few years, I have primarily worked in agile environments as a Chief Technical Officer, successfully helping IT teams find synergy between agile and requirements.
For more almost 15 years, I have been active in the Dutch requirements community and are ambassador of the Dutch local community. I am a member of the CPRE Foundation committee and co-authored the Foundation 3.x level, have contributed to translating CPRE for the Dutch market, co-authored the Dutch CPRE Foundation study book Basiskennis Requirements, and have been involved in many other IREB activities.
With Lasat Requirements, we provide CPRE training (in Dutch and English) at both Foundation and Advanced levels, and we supply our training materials to several international partners.
